Pathfinders Summer Institute 2025

Firia Labs, in partnership with Infosys Foundation USA, is dedicated to offering tuition-free professional development for teachers. This initiative is designed to equip educators with the skills necessary to teach authentic, project-based computer science courses using Python, the industry-standard programming language.

The Pathfinders Summer Institute is extending full scholarships, courtesy of Infosys Foundation USA, to K-12 teachers from public and charter schools, as well as to community librarians and district technology specialists, allowing these additional roles to join.

Course Description

Calling all innovative educators! Prepare your students for the world ahead by expanding your skills in Python programming, drones, and physical computing through hands-on training designed for 6th-12th grade educators. In this high-flying professional development, you’ll learn to code Firia Labs’ new CodeAIR drone and CodeX physical computing device, bringing an exciting STEM, project-based experience to your students.

Whether you're new to Python or looking to expand beyond block-based coding, our expert instructors will guide you every step of the way. You’ll master real-world programming skills as you command drones, explore sensor-driven automation, and design engaging classroom projects that inspire creativity and problem-solving.

Imagine your students coding their own drone missions, applying Python in hands-on challenges, and developing future-ready skills—all while having a blast!

How to Join

Follow these steps to join us this summer:

1. Create a free account in the Pathfinders Online Portal (opens in a new tab).
2. Register for First We Code, Then We Soar ... with Python.

Firia Labs will be in contact with you within 5 days in regards to your acceptance. Once you are accepted, you will be required to turn in 2 items:

• Scholarship acceptance letter you received via email, signed by both you and your admin/principal.
• A screenshot of your Pathfinders Online Portal. It will look like this picture below.
